homeland hues

On the eve that celebrates the original 1986 EDSA Revolution in the Philippines, it's heartbreaking to admit that this historical moment of dissent has not led our country out of the loathsome corruption we inherited from the Marcos Martial Law days.

Fat chance relocating to the United States did, now that Darth Cheeze Wheeze Trump has brought this once great country to its knees. We can only hope we recover when he's relegated back to his gilt lined tower.

If Twitter can suspend the human troll doll Tila Tequila for racism, why can't they do the same to the Fool on the Hill?

We wish Twitter could put a gag order on Mocha Unson too. This uber-troll no-doll - is a former strip club and bar performer, turned fake news blogger and PCOO assistant secretary to equally notorious Philippine President Duterte - deserves to disappear forever.

While the Philippines waged their People Power Revolution, the United States government spirited Dictator Ferdinand Marcos to Hawaii to live the rest of his days off their ill gotten Philippine loot, using US helicopters to take it all along with the whole family of slimey Macoys.

Are Filipinos a forgiving lot? Have we been brainwashed by too many years of colonization? Did we only learn the bad habits of our forebearers and none of the good?

Probably a little bit of everything, after all Filipinos take pride in being able to assimilate so well. How else have we survived the yoke of inequality all these years?

Still loving our country and its people. Still believing in a better world for our future generations. Still striving and surviving whatever comes our way.
