pass over

Passover is said to be protective magic that predates the Exodus - a rite of protection to ensure the safety of a family and home.

Once conducted wholly within a clan, it has since been integrated with other spring festivals and harvest ceremonies of feasting and celebration.

When the rites are performed the preparations produce sacred alchemy - a delicate balance of mythology with technology and philosophy

Similarly Ganachakra (a Dakini feast) is a sacramental meal and festive celebration invoking an magical transmutation from base matter to heightened vibration.

In this process, the negative energy of baser emotions or klesha (poison) is transformed into the luminous energy of enlightened awareness or gnosis (jnana).

Ingestion of such a holy feast is highly intoxicating - causing the physical digestion to lead to a spiritual unfolding and God realization.

If it is so that we are what we eat, then true magic is indeed manifested.

These skills and techniques have been passed on for generations and manifest today in contemporary weaves, designs and fashion that continue to keep these traditional arts and crafts alive and current.

love powers all

It's been a stir crazy five years (2018 to 2022) of roller coaster slams and bangs. We are all soul weary and battle scarred. Any little bit of tender loving care can go a long way.

As Saturn’s archetypal energy of structure and security begins to dissolve in Pisces’ oceanic womb of our collective psyche, our sense of reality is shifting with it.

Just look at the hot movie of the year, Everything, Everywhere All At Once. It’s about parallel worlds and alternative realities - a story about the love that powers it all.

We are ready to turn the Wheel of the Year once more.  Spring Equinox season is here - March 20 and 21 to June 21st.  We include Beltane (May 1 to 6) as the second part of this season.

This is the time to emerge out of the winter of our discontent and begin to blossom.

women wronged

Hollywood dramatizations and blatant fictionalizing of historical and other truths does such disservice to the public in general and to their viewers in particular. Dumbing our world down is such a disgrace. This post takes offence  over how "Agora" the movie got Hypatía so wrong.

"Agora offers no hint that Hypatía was also an internationally regarded philosopher, and the head of the Neoplatonist Academy in Alexandria. Socrates Scholasticus wrote that she “made such attainments in literature and science, as to far surpass all the philosophers of her own time.”

He went on to praise “her extraordinary dignity” and powerful civic authority: “On account of the self-possession and ease of manner which she had acquired in consequence of the cultivation of her mind, she not infrequently appeared in public in the presence of the magistrates.”
