mix & match | a Thanksgiving lauriat

This year's Thanksgiving celebration was spent among transplanted multinationals in our US home base of Weehawken, New Jersey.

We wanted a stress free gathering for our tiny group of neighbors and friends so we pre-ordered a scrumptious Oriental lauriat from the aptly named Precious Restaurant in Hoboken.

We were a pair of Europeans, a pair of Latinos, an American, and an Asian. Avid and eager eaters, it was a fine time to enjoy a festive feast together in the comfort of our home and neighborhood.

What a great way to spend Thanksgiving! Appreciative and grateful, quiet and comfortable, catching up and getting to know each other better.

Truly enjoying life's simple pleasures and generous bounty.

For our privacy and comfort we decided not to post any photos of ourselves.

You may sublimate instead on images of our feast. Most of which were consumed so eagerly - thank goodness for stock photos!

OUR MENU:
Miso Soup
Seaweed Salad
Pepper Tuna Salad
Tuna Pizza
Monster Roll
Steak Roll
Steamed Gyoza [pork dumplings]
Unagi Don [broiled eel & bonito flakes]
Peking Duck [whole & roasted]
Scallion Pancakes
Brown Rice
Deep Fried Banana Balls
Assorted Mochi Balls
Fortune Cookies
Coffee & Tea
Beer & Spritzers

We did our best to qualify since a lauriat calls for a minimum of eight or ten dishes. BURP!

Our final perk - over coffee and dessert - was watching a live stream of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the streets of New York City from our warm and cozy home.

As we basked in the sweet afterglow of well fed bellies and the company of new found friends it was a grand time to count our many blessings in appreciative thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
