people power

In the Philippines we are now celebrating the 31st Anniversary of the People Power Revolution that ousted former dictator, Ferdinand Marcos.

At the corner of EDSA & Boni

With the current president an avid fan of the Marcos family - who facilitated the burial of this malevolent dictator in our local heroes' cemetery, desecrating sacred ground - sore wounds have opened up and festered once again.

We have to ask, when will justice be served and can some form of closure be honorably and decently achieved after all these years?

It has been 31 years since the peaceful EDSA evolution and 30 years since the 1987 Constitution was ratified.

Yet the challenges for our people remain and multiply with each passing government administration.

Duterte has decided to downplay the EDSA celebration this year and he announced that he will not be attending the affair.

In doing so he has angered many and made it blatantly clear who he has aligned himself with and whom he supports.

We the Filipino people are righteously offended by the blatantly disrespectful behavior of this crass boor.

We will not be silenced. We remain vigilant and fiercely protect our hard earned freedom and honor all the true heroes who sacrificed so much so we could break the Marcos reign and end his years of dictatorship.

We refuse to accept this loathsome behavior any longer. #neveragain! #Pinaskongmahal
