“We are not people anymore. We have been products for a long time, and these are our labels”
In a world of therapy-speak, Freya India argues we’ve lost the language of character - replacing quirks with conditions. But are we mentally ill, or just human?
| authentic & unapologetic |
This is part of a deeper instinct in modern life to explain everything - psychologically, scientifically, evolutionarily. Everything about us is caused, categorized, and can be corrected.
We talk in theories, frameworks, systems, structures, drives, motivations, and mechanisms. But in exchange for explanation, we lost mystery, romance, and lately, ourselves.
So free yourself - live unapologetically with no need to argue in defense of oneself. Be brave and normal - no need to explain, complain, retain. My emotions are mine. My decisions are mine. My memories are mine.
Not to be intruded upon by an audience, the current market, for interpretation by experts. Mine to do with as I please and not at the others pleasure. Not to be filed as deviations from what the medical or any other industry decides is healthy. Your opinions remain yours - not mine.
I remain unsolvable - a mystery ready for discovery. Written in the stars. Wandering the earth. Curious and unknowable - divinely human.
A person, not a product. No explanation needed, no reason required.
