#MeToo

Caught between a rock and a hard place.

On the upside we all rejoice over the whistle blowers who finally toppled Harvey Weinstein.

Predators and perverts like him have no place in our world or the future of our children.

Yet bigger fish like self professed pussy grabbing Donald Trump and forever rape boasting Rodrigo Duterte are presidents of nations.

Even when someone like Bill Cosby gets to court his sexual assault cases end in a mistrial.

W T F !

Our rape culture goes further back than the slave trade. Both have evolved and morphed with time.

Cavemen then may be excused for not knowing any better but what is our excuse for allowing this  now?

Sure, condemnation of rape and rapists gets lots of lip service as unacceptable behavior.

Yet why do Harvey, Donald, and Rodrigo believe they can get away with it? Why offer their lame apologies to make it go away?

W H Y ?

To our utter dismay and disgust this shameful behavior continues to shame the person assaulted and not the perpetrator of the crime.

On social media a #MeToo call was raised.

If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote "me too" as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.

Interestingly enough the prospect both incited and scared me.

My initial response was Y E S ! Spread the word already Time to blow this up!

Then I worried that it could have dismal or disappointing results.

Will there be enough of us? Will we be brave enough to raise the red flag? Especially around those near and dear?

Some of who could well be the same savage in civil wear masquerading as family and friend? Concerned citizen or smiling neighbor?

Whatever the outcome it is what it is. I am here in support and witness.

Either way it is a historical landmark.
