2016 : the winter of my discontent

By my count, today is truly a dark day in the history of America to date.

Make no mistake, I am not referring to winter solstice

Against all our hopes and prayers the Hamilton Electors and the US Electoral College failed to overturn votes and turn the tide.

This was our last line of defense. What we all hoped and prayed for.

And so Donald J. Trump steps into office as the 45th President of the United States.

Never mind that by every relevant metric, Trump’s totals were some of the narrowest in American history and he lost the popular vote by nearly three million votes.

To describe his victory as a “landslide” is a blatant insult and strips the word of any real meaning.

In stereotypical behavior Trump’s adult children, who serve on the executive committee of his presidential transition team and have functioned as key advisers since he began his campaign.

Tramping up the Donald, a new Texas nonprofit led by grown sons Donald Jr and Eric is offering access to the freshly-minted president during inauguration weekend.

All in exchange for million-dollar donations to unnamed “conservation” charities, according to interviews and documents reviewed by the Center for Public Integrity.

This is problematic on so many levels.

God help us all now. In our darkest hour.
