We are already halfway through September.  The ninth month of the year and one of the most powerful for seeing our manifestations and intentions come to life! 

If you like to set intentions in the first few months of the year, September is often a time when we can start to see some progress.

A new season brings a new rhythm.

1. ​Ground. Bring grounding stones, earthy incense, and protective ritual goods into your space.
2. Refresh. Clear out the energy of summer with cleansing sprays, smoke, bells, and other space-clearing tools.
3. Gather. Stock up on the incense, candles, herbs, and ritual essentials you’ll want close at hand as the days grow shorter.

​Prepare your space, refresh your ritual, and rebuild your altar. Gather what you need for the months ahead.

As we reach the middle of the month, we experience the Equinox and the Sun moving into Libra. This is a powerful day for our planet, and a time when we can really soak up Mother Earth’s healing vibrations with ease.

Noche Buena. Simbang Gabi. Misa de Gallo. All are cherished Filipino Christmas holiday traditions we hold warmly in our hearts. 

Simbang Gabi is the night mass Filipinos attend mass either late at night or in the early morning hours. It is a series of masses held daily for all nine days before Christmas. The belief holds that attending all nine masses will grant ones wish.

Simbang Gabi can also have a nine-day novena procession that is a reenactment of the nativity of Christ known as the Panunulúyan.

Traditionally the autumn equinox is a celebration of the harvest when summer ends and its fruits are collected in preparation for winter. Yet there are other indicators given by the most ancient sacred sites that mark the autumn equinox.

On the day of an equinox, daytime and nighttime are of approximately equal duration all over the planet. There are the scientific approach developed throughout the ages - astronomical, meteorological, phenological.

In astronomy all four seasons start along with the equinoxes and solstices. Before the Southward or September equinox - autumn in the northern hemisphere and spring in the south - the Sun rises and sets more northerly. After the equinox it rises and sets more southerly. 

In contrast meteorology divides a year into four seasons - spring, summer, autumn or fall, and winter. Three months for each based on their monthly average temperatures, with summer as the warmest and winter the coldest. 

Phenology applies a range of environmental and biological indicators to mark life cycles in periodic events. How the weather and climate influence such events, like leaves falling off trees or birds migrating to warmer countries.
