I struggle with great difficulty to not lash out in rabid frustration over the shameless lies of Marcos propaganda. Today's post is about Imee Marcos - big sister and ate' to Bongbong Marcos.

Specifically her blatant branding of Nutribuns distributed at a recent Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) event in the town of Consolacion, Cebu.
In typical foot in mouth faux pas, Imee has opened old Martial Law wounds once more with her callous retelling of an old Marcos fiction.

Photos of the Nutribuns featuring the senator’s name circulated on social media, with many users critical of the attempt to score political points using something that should actually stand as a reminder of the widespread poverty and malnutrition during the regime of her father, Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
First introduced in the 1970s, Nutribun, a dense, nutrient-rich bread, was distributed by USAID Nutrition to elementary school feeding programs across the Philippines in an attempt to fight child malnourishment.

USAID stepped in because children were dying and suffering all over the country and the Marcos government were not doing anything to help them. Adding insult to injury the Marcoses took full credit for the program and continue to market it as one of their dictator dad's successful achievements.
Marcos driven trolls continue too spread social media disinformation - crediting the Marcos administration with launching the feeding programs then and now.

This is the most egregious part of yet another Marcos long game lie - they were the cause of the problem and here they are once again claiming credit for being our saviors. Good reason to get our undies in a wad for sure.
