For the first time in both their lives we have four generations living together - to the sheer joy of our parents. That they remain healthy and of sound mind, on their feet walking unaided, however slowly and carefully - is a constant boon we are all in awe of.

Today we watch - virtually from afar, in the Philippines, Hongkong, London, Spain and the US - as he descends among his brood. Surrounded by the excited cheers and laughter of our littlest ones - so eager to greet him with hugs and kisses. Happy to celebrate his birthday and eat all the food prepared to honor this living icon of our joint households.
