always remember | never forget

The U.S. shares celebrations on this day along with Great Britain, France, Australia and Canada. All who also commemorate the veterans of WWI and WWII on or around Nov 11.

For Canada it is Remembrance Day, while Britain has Remembrance Sunday which is the second Sunday in November. In Europe, Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries it is common to observe two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. every November 11th.

Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries wear poppies to remember those who died in war. Wearing of the poppy actually started with an American school teacher, but became a symbol of WWI because of the poem "In Flanders Field" by Canadian, John McCrae.

Then and now our world has experienced the devastation and divisiveness wars can take on its people and our nature. For those born and raised in other places, moving to other countries, our loyalties are played upon, deeply wounding and affecting so much.

Let us all take this day to recognize the significance of those who serve. Their bravery won us our freedom and our lives. Peace to us all.

where is the love?

Taking a break from all the resistance, revolution, and rallying to focus on some LOVE as we lead up to Valentine's Day celebrations.

What a challenge these times present - leaving us to question, "where is the love?"

At a time when the lack of respect for existence is met with expected resistance on so many facets and levels, remaining openhearted and connected is such a sruggle.

peace, baby, peace

October 2 was International Day of Non-Violence, celebrated on the birthday of civil disobedience
pioneer, Gandhi.

Leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence and non-cooperation, Gandhi remains a controversial inspiration of global peace
advocates.

inner peace . . . . one breath at a time . . . .

We meditate to get ourselves and our monkey minds out of the way otherwise our Universe is tainted by all our filters and our clarity is lost in the mire.

The Tao Te Ching says ~
When I let go of what I am,
I become what I might be.
When I let go of what I have,
I receive what I need.

It is the guiding principle in meditation.

I embrace all of me - who I believe I am or I am not. I witness all this. I watch it come and I watch it go.

I sit at peace with myself - what stirs in me, what surrounds me. Watching and breathing my way along.

Soft, quiet and relaxed. As each breath deepens, the void expands and I sink deeper into it.

Beyond time and space I sit in my own company - my divine original being.

Welcome, Beloved of God.
