full moon | full heart

It's Holy Week, Passover, and Easter season. A sacred time to retreat within and indulge in some introspective reflection.

The cosmos offers us a chance to reflect on what has come to fruition once a month since the full moon represents the culmination of a six-month cycle. Memories will swim to the surface during the full moon in this nostalgic lunation.

Calatrava, Negros Occidental - Marty Go

This month's full moon falls in Libra - representing balance and compromise regarding emotional situations, decisions, and relationships.

spring yet to come

We are going through the motions of celebrating a spring that has yet to come.

Winter White over the Hudson River

Tired and weary of winter - the magic has gone out of the fluff and cold.

Even with the days growing longer - the chill is still too nippy in the air.

Warm yourselves up on some spectacular photos from a late Easter weekend post.

For #wonderwanderwomen Mother Nature had her April Fools Day fun on our behalf.

friends & relations

People come into your life
for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.

Phases of our lives.

Of all our relations friendship is the most valued and valuable.

So fragile and ephemeral and yet the foundation upon which our lives rest and are weighed.

Easter time

For me, Easter in the US is all about eggs, bunnies, baskets, candy, and stuffing our selves on feasts that have tables and bellies groaning under the weight of family favorites.

In contrast, Easter in the Philippines, was a lot more somber and mired in religiosity.

unholy holy week

consecrated and sacrosanct
Christ is nailed on the cross
in ritualistic re-enactment
of the final moments in Calvary

tiempo muerto, dead season, idle time

arise

seat of my soul hidden inside me
secret
unknown
overlooked
for years layer upon layer accumulating

shadows in corners
creeping
spreading
overgrown
overshadowed feelings all tangled and snarled

lunar bloody eclipse
opaque
cloudy
forlorn
obscured silver linings so dark and dim

dawn proclaims a new day
silver
bronze
golden
awake and free i rise from my tomb of longing
