Kung Hei Fat Choy 2022! Happy Year of the Black Yang Water Tiger which runs from February 1 to 21 January 2023. Bringing to a close the previous Year of the White Yin Metal Ox. 

The Rat on the Crossbeam month ended on 2 January 2019, when the Ox on the Road month took place through February 1, the eve of the Chinese New Year. This begins the Tiger Crossing the Forest month and year.

The Chinese Lunar New Year always begins on the second new moon after the winter solstice. For 2022 this coincides with the Aquarius New Moon which occurs on 1 February 2022 at 12:46 a.m. EST. 

2022 is the Year of the Black Yang Water Tiger

The New Moon in Aquarius marks the beginning of a new cycle. The Capricorn New Moon cycle ends and the Aquarius New Moon cycle begins. In the sign of Aquarius, friendship, brotherhood, group activities, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, humanitarian efforts, or joining a group will be a strong focus. 

New beginnings regarding any or all of these matters are made possible. Imbolc, Saint Brigid's or 

Candlemas starts on Groundhog Day or what old myths call Persephone - the awakening of Earth's life force as light returns out of winter's depths. 

Tigers are quick to action, so in 2022, be prepared for situations to change on a dime. Tempers flare, drama and excitement reign, and crazy dreams can become reality. This can apply to personal relationships, career developments, and, on a larger scale, political unrest or social revolution. 

While there can be great boons that come out of a Tiger year and some zodiac signs may experience wonderful luck, others can easily get burned. There is no middle ground in the year of the Tiger. 

Since 2022 is the year of the Water Tiger, it is a time of very strong, wild emotions. For some people, that’s liberating, and they should take the risk. Sometimes, however, emotional extremes can mean chaos.
