Moving Forward: The Ati & Tumandok People of Panay Island |
In our native home islands money driven bullshit reigns supreme. Economic issues drive folks to extremes. Paradise is being sold to the highest bidders.
Money and power fuel land grabbing. Rich folks buy locals out. Corrupt government officials abuse the law, selling what they have no right to.
Money, power or corruption are ever present in our lives. The local people, environment and way of life are all harshly affected.
Indiscriminately these are being destroyed rather than sustained. Covertly or blatantly. By legal means or foul. In growing greed and spectacular scale.
This profound greed, perpetuated since we started to walk upright, has reached disastrous and dangerous all time highs.
Those with money, power or position act with shameless impunity. Angering those who have none. The balance is so warped ans skewed.
The rest of us watch in awe and fear waiting for it all to tip over or explode. Leaving all devastated and destroyed.

This is the world we inherited in the wake of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos. They brought their dastardly deeds and vile skeletons out of dank dungeons and dark closets. Parading it in broad daylight and on to the world stage.
Gas lighting us all. Polluting everything they lay their filthy hands on. Spreading their plague and contagion.

Living it up to this day, even with Macoy himself long dead. His insane wife and entitled spawn still employ both ill gotten wealth and corrupt connections to perpetuate supremacy and reinvent history.
To this day they use wealth and influence to fund and sustain debilitating national activities. Continuing to derail our nation. Suspending good conduct and government. Choking and killing our country's potential.

This is the Marcos Curse on the Philippines. Filipinos continue to accept this and let them reign. That is our curse.

We are a small nation. With intimate relations. There are no secrets.
