for the love of our humanity

The 1987 Philippine constitution was written into law by the Filipinos right after the Marcoses left. Though the real Macoy is long dead, his family have since returned and continue to rub our noses into their entitled lives.

In the meantime, no equality or diffused wealth for the common good has been prioritized persistently and consistently into the betterment of our poor and disenfranchised.
In the meantime, no equality or diffused wealth for the common good has been prioritized persistently and consistently for the betterment of our poor and disenfranchised.

Instead since Marcos the dictator was kicked out of the Philippines every single President since has not done tangibly or perceptively much to bridge the gap between our haves and have nots.

We the people had such high hopes when Corazon Aquino first stepped into office but between Philippine politics and our system of government so little has changed.

More significantly, the corruption invested upon us by all those Marcos years still prevails today, even when too many have forgotten those dark days and true reparation has yet to be made by the Marcos family or their cronies and thugs.

They stand on their righteous high horse and pontificate about how much they were slandered and wronged. They hold office in our government and institutions. They live celebrated lives cocooned in their stolen hidden wealth. They flaunt and flash our lost assets right at us with loathsome impunity and entitlement.

Today one of their paid minions — what we derogatorily refer to as tuta ni Macoy  - is yet another elected president of the land. While tuta literally means young dog - used in this local colloquialism it refers to the inexperienced young pup, yapping away to make up for its lack of substance or standing, licking after its master to whom it is at its beck and call.

Rodrigo Duterte looks and acts the part perfectly  -  an ill mannered goon, lacking any tact or diplomacy and proudly flaunting his rough and ever ready machismo and foul potty mouth, lashing out to strip any opposition of all dignity, force feeding himself until we gag.

Those who mock and attack in his manner are deeply flawed and if they are in any leadership role they are a danger to us all.

At this difficult and challenging junction in our lives, we all need to be reminded.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” ~ Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
